Hurricane Dorian Updates

As the uncertainty of Dorian weighs upon us, we at Temple Beth Emet want to wish upon you our blessings for a safe week.

As you prepare for the storm's effects, please remember that you and your loved ones are the most important possessions you have. Dangers often exist long after the rains and winds cease.
It often takes an occurrence like this to make us reevaluate our priorities and return to the values we constantly are working towards and to be reminded of.

The Temple and its schools and programs will reopen as soon as it is safe. We will serve the community in whatever way it can post storm. If necessary, we will serve as a tertiary shelter and as a commissary for agencies helping in storm recovery.

We will be holding services as scheduled this evening at 7 p.m. Our schools follow the Broward County School System schedule for closing. Regarding schools opening, you will hear from our various programs. We have cancelled our adult learning programs on Tuesday as well as the AA meeting.

Again our prayers go out to all as we hope that Dorian decides to move out to sea.

We stand in awe of the power of Creation:

Baruch ata Adonai, Elohanu Melech Haolam she kocho u-gevurato maleh olam.
Blessed are You, Source of Life and Nature, whose awesome power and strength fill the world .
Baruch ata Adonai, Elohanu Melech Haolam ha-notayn koach lanu
Blessed is the One who gives us strength to face life's challenges.
Be safe and be strong!

With love and blessings,
